Porcelain is an art form that takes time, it can not be treated the same as oils, watercolors, or acrylics. The blank white china is painted and then fired in a kiln, with temperatures ranging from 1,450 to 1565 degrees Fahrenheit. The colors are transparent and every wash of color is influenced by the previous color under it. This procedure is repeated many times until the desired depth and detail is reached.
The video below provides samples of my work including custom designed porcelain, classes in slate & porcelain, and my artwork. You can visit my studio in Oil City, PA at the National Transit Art Studios.
